Where did I train

So I get asked all the time where I trained so I thought I would share.

I was very lucky that The Princes Trust paid for me to do a home course through ICS. The ICS course was a great starting point and unlike alot of the private schools you do actually get a qualification at the end.

The downside is that you are training yourself and unless you already have some creative flair this may just be a waste of money.

At the time the course cost £500.00 which I completed within 8 months whilst working full time. Once I had finished the course I did some assisting and watched alot of videos by Sam and Nicola Chapman and the artists at Smashbox.

I am now working full time in the Industry aswell as running The Make-up Artist Boutique with my mum Kathy. I do not for one moment think I am at the top of my game as the art of Make-up evolves every day and I do plan on doing further course's to ensure I evolve with it.

About Me

Hi I am Emma and welcome to my blog.

This blog will be a compilation of useful tips, advice and reviews I have picked up on my journey to becoming a makeup artist. I started this blog because I get lots of emails from young girls wanting to work in the industry and they ask for advice on how to move forward.

The internet is a great source of information you would not believe how many Make-up Artists use the internet to research products, looks, tools books etc

I started my journey back in 2003 I was in a car accident which resulted in me losing my full time job. During the 4 years that followed I appeared on Channel 4's the Salon as one of their Make-over clients and got the chance to have my make-up done by Yvette Redmond. Having my make-up done by Yvette spurred me on to train and become a make-up artist myself.

I have been qualified for nearly 3 years and just like every working artist my portfolio is a constant work in progress. I do not profess to be at the top of my game but hopefully through the years you will see me progress and I certainly don’t claim to be an authority on all things beauty so please chip in with your comments good, bad and just plain UGLY!
