My best friend George came around today and he wanted me to do a 'Lady Gaga Esq' look. Now, I have a pretty good camera, but, why is it that makeup always look so much better in person than when you put it on film? Due to this reason, I may have to revisit this look because I am not happy with the final product at all!
The wonderful no make-up shot :) |
Brushes used From Left to Right:
Royal and Lagnickle C401
OCC Angle Brush #009
Benefit Angled Liner Brush
OCC Large Powder Brush #001
E.L.F Foundation Brush
Smashbox Crease Brush #10
OCC Foudation Brush #002
I started with the eyes, creating the line with the Loreal Studio Secrets Pencil in 590 Black. Once I was happy with the shape, I applied the same liner all over the lid and, then, patted in Urban Decay's Oil Slick using Brush C401. Once I was happy with the eyeshape and colour, I applied concealer from Yaby, in shade Vanilla (cc013), using the E.L.F brush and Sephora Tinted Moisuriser in Medium 26 Peach, using OCC #002 Brush. (I will do another blog about why I use this Foundation choice)
I applied Benefit eyebrow wax from the Smokin' Eye Palette and Smashbox Bionic Mascara, in Jet Black, to the upper and lower lashes. I then set the skin with Yaby Loose Setting Powder using OCC #001 Brush. Using the Smashbox crease brush, I applied PF091 from the Yaby Finishing Touch palette, to contour my cheeks and then using the same brush and palette, I applied PF089, as a highlighter. I took the OCC #001 Brush again and blended the highlighter and bronzer and then applied Yaby Blush in BL022. I finished the look by applying OCC Liptar in Divine using my finger.
And here you have the finished look which failed hugely :(

i love that you post this even when as a pro people would assume you would need to get it right every single time.
ReplyDeletea lot of people forget that being an MUA means being good at doing makeup on others, it doesnt necessarily mean that people are good at making themselves look like models. also theres a lot that photography helps with and you obviously take your own pics with a standard camera.
i love it :) keep it up
