I have been sitting here today doing some research into the monthly subscription boxes because everywhere I look there is an advert for them so, I wanted to find out more. There are a few around in the UK at the moment and the most popular seem to be the SheSaidBeauty box and the Glossy box but I have located some others:
Latest In Beauty
Latest In Beauty offers a selection of luxury samples priced from £2.00 - £10.00 to build your own box as well as Themed boxes and a little beauty box.
Little Beauty Box – The Company calls this their signature box which allows you to choose from a selection of samples from each category. The samples available are the kind that you would find in magazines that allow you to test the product once. The cost of this box is £1.50 which you pay for by text.
Luxury Samples – Build your own box from a range of travel size samples from a selection of brands including Burt’s Bees, Balance Me and Monu. The cost of this box is dependent on the samples you choose. Postage for the build your own box is £2.95
Themed Boxes – Throughout the year the company builds up 6 themed boxes which they say are made up out of seasonal picks, products designed to cater for a specific beauty issue or skin concern, or a branded box in conjunction with a retailer or organisation. The current box on offer is TheRed Carpet Box and according to the site includes “everything you need for a show-stopping red carpet appearance”. This box includes: Youngblood Mineral Primer (5ml) Full Size Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara, Full size Smooch Lipstick in Rocking Red, Full size Essential Care Eye Pencil, One Dr Bragi Intensive Treatment mask, QMS MediCosmetics Hand Care (40ml), Richard Ward Hair Energiser Styling Spray (50ml) and a Mont Bleu Mini Crystal and Glass Nail File. The box costs £14.99 including postage which for the 3 full size products alone is very good value for money.

Glossy Box Brands |
Finally for today we have Glossybox
Glossybox seems to be one of the more popular choices and currently seems to be everywhere I look. The company got an awful lot of publicity for sending out a full size Nars product some time ago. Glossy box works with a lot of high end well known brands from O.P.I to YSL.
Like many of the boxes available this box costs £10.00 per month for 5 premium minitures plus £2.95 for postage they also accept paypal, credit/debit cards or direct debit. Glossybox offer 4 subscription plans: £10 each month which can be cancelled anytime, £30 for 3 months plus p+p, £60 for 6 months plus p+p or £110 for 12 months plus p+p.
Glossybox also offer a reward program for writing reviews and referring friends which they call Glossydots. You gain 20 dots per review with a maximum of 100 per box and 200 per friend that you refer. Dots can be redeemed against boxes once you reach 1000 dots (£10).
Glossybox are currently the only subcription box company in the UK that does one for the guys unlike the female version this box is sent every 3 months, contains 7 premium minitures and costs £15 plus p+p which can be cancelled anytime, £60 plus p+p for 4 boxes or £75 plus p+p for 7 boxes (getting one free)
This month Glossybox are working with Harrods to bring their subscribers a limited edition box.
From these three I am most excited to try Glossybox of course and I shall be ordering this months box when I get paid on monday so once it arrives expect a review.
Watch out for Part 2 tomorrow:)
